The Shang Phu to Skiu trek is a scenic and moderately challenging high-altitude trail in Ladakh, combining the lush valleys of Hemis National Park with dramatic mountain passes and remote villages.Starting from Shang Phu, the route ascends through pristine alpine meadows and crosses the Stok La Pass (4,900m), offering panoramic views of the Stok Kangri range. It then descends into the Rumbak Valley, a region rich in wildlife like blue sheep, Himalayan fox, and possibly snow leopards.The trail continues toward Shingo and finally leads into the Markha Valley, ending at the village of Skiu (3,400m). Along the way, trekkers experience traditional Ladakhi hospitality, dramatic gorges, colorful rock formations, and ancient culture.This trek is ideal for acclimatized trekkers seeking solitude, natural beauty, and high mountain passes, all within proximity of Leh.
