This trek offers a rare opportunity to explore the remote and pristine valleys of the Zanskar region, far from the usual tourist routes. Starting from Rangdum (3,657 m), the trail follows a series of high pastures, river valleys, and traditional settlements that have remained unchanged for centuries. Over five days, trekkers pass through charming hamlets such as Marpolung, Chuthungsta, and Dibling, crossing grazing lands used by nomadic herders. The route gradually ascends to moderate altitudes, providing stunning views of surrounding snow-capped peaks and the dramatic Himalayan terrain. The final stretch brings you to Lingshed, a picturesque village famous for its monastery and sweeping panoramas. This trek is moderate in difficulty, with daily walking times of 3–7 hours, making it suitable for well-acclimatized hikers seeking both cultural encounters and wilderness immersion.
